A Message from Bryan
Dear Visitors,
Since we believe at St. Peter’s that God speaks through the Bible, our sermon series often explore sections or even whole books of Scripture, like our recent series in Exodus. Occasionally, we go to the Bible with specific questions on Christian living in our context.
This is the case with our current series, “In Christ: Christian Identity, Gender, and Sexuality.” From February 18 to March 17 we’re exploring what the Bible has to say about some of the most personal and tender subjects being discussed today, especially the question, “Who am I?” Recordings of the sermons given so far are available here.
How do we answer this, as Christians? And how do questions about gender identity and sexuality relate? We’re taking five weeks to explore these and see how the Bible speaks with clarity and incredible compassion.
If you have young children, please know those from kindergarten through fifth grade are always dismissed during the sermons for a separate time of teaching (this is optional, of course). Their focus is unrelated. Our sixth through twelfth graders are interacting with carefully prepared material on these at The Well.
Below is a schedule of the series:
February 18: Our Common Identity Confusion
February 25: The Bible and Our Bodies
March 3: The Bible and Gender Identity
March 10: The Bible on Sex and Marriage
March 17: The Bible and Same-Sex Relationships
April 5 and 6: Follow up event, “In Christ: Christian Identity and Sexuality” with Sam Allberry at Hope Community Church (registration required)
Considering the nature of these, we didn’t want you to be surprised when you visit. Even if you don’t join us, we hope you consider listening to them on our website’s new audio archive. We also encourage you to explore the recommended resources below.
Please feel free to contact us if there are any questions we can answer about your visit.
In Christ,
Bryan
